Friends of Francis Park and the St Louis Hills Neighborhood Association welcomes you to join us for our Run for the Hills 5k Run this September. With many of our events and park fundraisers canceled because of the pandemic, we believe the Run of 2020 must go on! For the well-being and safety of our runners and volunteers, this year’s version will look much different but will still keep the tradition alive for the 29th consecutive year. 100% of the money raised from the Run for the Hills is spent directly on Francis Park.
What’s different in 2020?
Registrants for the Run for the Hills will receive a course map with registration and will be able to run the 5K race on their own schedule between September 12 and September 19.
Using the map provided as your guide, run the 5K course that starts at the intersection of Donovan and Itaska Streets, winds around Francis Park and through the St. Louis Hills neighborhood and ends at Nottingham and Tamm Avenues.
There will be no 1 Mile Walk & Fun Run or Competitive Youth Run this year.
Please be mindful that there will be no streets blocked to vehicular traffic and no volunteers or emergency vehicles will be present along the course. Please adhere to the conditions of the road–including traffic and weather conditions–and use sidewalks where appropriate.
What makes the Run for the Hills the best 5k in StL? ↙️
☀️You are so ready for this- you’ve been training all spring and summer!
☀️A fast course winding through the beautiful hills!
☀️The very most popular t-shirt in St Louis Hills will be back!
☀️You are supporting the park which has been an essential part of your life, especially in 2020. 100% of the money raised from the Run for the Hills is spent directly on our treasured neighborhood centerpiece, Francis Park. As most if not all of our park fundraisers have been wiped out this year, this may be our only park fundraiser in 2020.
☀️Received the Best Neighborhood Support Award over all other St Louis metro area races! I hope we can live up to that distinction again in 2020.
