At the request of the St. Louis Hills Safety Committee, Attorney Rachel Smith of the Circuit Attorneys’ Office has offered to train interested individuals how to write Neighborhood Impact Statements on May 31st at 7:00 p.m. at the Buder Library lower level conference room (4401 Hampton Ave, Saint Louis, MO 63109). A Neighborhood Impact Statement is a letter to the judge officiating over a crime committed in your neighborhood that explains the impact said crime has had on individuals and businesses in your neighborhood. Signatures for these letters are collected to show the support of the neighborhood. These letters are considered by judges at the time of setting a bond amount and at the time of sentencing.
